BOCES community mourns death of occupational therapist
Family, friends, students and colleagues are mourning
the death of Patricia McVeigh, an occupational therapist
at HFM BOCES, following her death May 27 from an
automobile accident.
"We have lost an outstanding professional and ardent
student advocate,” said Michael Jacob, director of
special education at HFM BOCES. "She served pupils and
families with special needs in an extraordinary manner,
and her passing will be felt by many."
Ms. McVeigh joined the HFM BOCES staff in 2002 and
worked in many area schools and with countless students.
This year, she was assigned to Warren Street Elementary
School in Johnstown, Boulevard Elementary School in
Gloversville, and the St. Johnsville Central School
District.
"Our thoughts are with her family and with great regard
for the work she carried on here at HFM,” said HFM BOCES
District Superintendent Geoffrey H. Davis.
