BOCES makes commitment to recycling
Collection containers will be available for variety of
materials
HFM BOCES is beginning an aggressive recycling program this
year – both to address global environmental concerns and to
help reduce waste disposal costs.
Beginning this fall, collection containers will be placed in
designated areas throughout the campus along with
informational signs.
The following items will be collected
for recycling:
• Paper and cardboard
• Non-deposit bottles and cans
• Inkjet and toner cartridges
• Old cell phones
• Batteries, including Ni-MH, NICAD, LI-ION and small sealed
lead batteries (alkaline and non-rechargeable batteries are
not recycled)
• Computer components
• Tires
• Waste oil
• Light bulbs
• Scrap metal
• Ballasts
• Mercury products
