Reading and
writing course offered for adult English language learners
HFM BOCES class focuses on practical skills
HFM BOCES Adult Literacy program is offering an English
Language Learners course that focuses on reading and writing
in American English. Students must be 18 or older to qualify
for the class, and have advanced speaking and listening
skills in English.
Classes begin Monday, July 6 and meet every Monday &
Wednesday evening from 6-9 pm for six weeks. Students must
be able to attend all 12 sessions. Classes will be held in
Amsterdam, location to be determined.
The course will emphasize reading forms, documents,
magazines and newspapers. Writing skills will focus on
filling out employment forms, writing letters and journals.
Students must register on July 1.
